Patient Forms

Upon entering our office our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family.  We will request you fill our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Consultation

Next you will have a consultation with one of our well trained health care professionals to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care meet your goals.

Examination

After your consultation, you will recieve a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

Surface Electromyography (SEMG)

The purpose of surface electromyography (SEMG) is to detect and identify abnormal function of the spine and muscles.  Abnormal spinal muscular function leads directly to abnormal nervous system imbalance.

The SEMG is utilised as a diagnostic tool in the treatment care plan of all patients at The Back Dr. This system is designed to provide not only accurate and objective clinical data for you and your practitioner, it is also used for test and retest reliability as an accountability tool and importantly to assist in accurately gauging your spinal muscular recovery and wellness.

The SEMG scans are painless and do not utilise any radiation, high level electricity or intense heat.

X-Ray Studies

   Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to get a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.  Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.

Digital Foot Scanner

Your feet are the foundation of your body. They support you when you stand, walk, or run. And they help protect your spine, bones, and soft tissues from damaging stress as you move around. Your feet perform better when all their muscles, arches, and bones are in their ideal stable positions.

At The Back Dr we use a high tech digital scanner. At least 16 different measurements of your feet are taken to ensure that your feet, and therefore your foundation, are more firmly supported. Orthotics can be prescribed as part of your treatment to provide proper support of the feet which will allow for better alignment and stabilization of the correction of the spinal structures above.

At the completion of Your First visit, the health care team will need some time to access all the important infomation gathered from your tests. You will be booked in as soon as possible to go through your results to let you know whether we can help you and answer any other questions you may have. See Your Second Visit for more infomation.
